UNICAL 2026/2027 POST UTME SCREENING EXERCISE CUT-OFF MARK

The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has announced the commencement of its Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise for candidates seeking admission into the institution for the 2026/2027 academic session.

According to the Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Chukwuka Icha, the university said applications are open to candidates who selected UNICAL as their first-choice institution in the 2026/2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored a minimum of 150.

The institution also stated that candidates who did not initially choose UNICAL but wish to study at the university are eligible to apply, provided they meet the minimum score requirement and effect the necessary change of institution through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

According to the statement, the registration portal will open on June 1, 2026, while the deadline for applications has been fixed for July 31, 2026.

The university disclosed that the screening process has been fully digitised, eliminating the use of e-transact and scratch card PINs in favour of an online payment and registration system.

Applicants are required to visit the university’s official Post-UTME portal to validate their JAMB registration details, complete the online application form, and make a non-refundable payment of ₦2,000 through approved payment channels, including ATM cards, bank transfers and USSD services.

The institution advised candidates to provide valid email addresses and active telephone numbers during registration, warning that it would not be responsible for unsuccessful applications resulting from incorrect or invalid contact information.

UNICAL further reiterated that candidates seeking admission into Medicine and Surgery must present O’Level results obtained in one sitting, in line with the Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS) policy.

The Registrar also warned that any false declaration regarding UTME scores, O’Level results or state of origin would attract automatic disqualification from the admission process.

Prospective candidates were advised to carefully follow all registration guidelines and ensure that the information provided during the application process is accurate and verifiable.
